Categories
Three Categories
- Teach Me Something -- Make an instructional or how-to movie.
- Make Me Laugh -- Make a movie sure to get the audience laughing!
- Cultural/ Environmental -- Tell a tale of your culture or an environmental issue.
Four Levels
ASTE's iDidaMovie entries compete on their own level.
- K-5 Elementary
- 6-8 Middle School
- 9-12 High School
- University/Adult
Rules
- Movies must be created by currently practicing Alaskan educators and/or students
- Movies must be submitted on cross-platform CD-ROM and in QuickTime format. One movie per CD.
- You may enter as many movies as you like; however, movies may be submitted only once
- Movies must be two minutes or under in length with a file size no larger than 30 MB
- ASTE may disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate within their sole discretion. (Shoot for a "G" rating!)
- Digital movies must be received on no later than 5:00 p.m., February 10, 2006.
- Release forms for everyone in your movie must be submitted with the movie entry.
- Any copyrighted work-music, logos, clips-must have the appropriate written permission attached.
- By submitting a movie, the contestant(s) grant ASTE the right to publish the movie in part or in whole in any medium.
- Copyright of the movie will remain with the contestant.

- 1 Canon Elura 80 Digital Video Camera (Teachers4Schools)

Judging Criteria
- Student Involvement -- Evidence of student involvement in the creation and content of the movie.
- Content Quality -- The flow of information and the quality of the images.
- Technical Merit -- Appropriate use of transitions, titling, background music, special effects, etc.
- Impact --The degree to which the movie achieves the intent of the category.
- Accuracy -- Precision with respect to content information and English usage.
