Conference Chair

David Piazza has been a member of AACED and ASTE since making Alaska his home over 20 years ago. He has served the organization previously as Past President, President, President Elect, At Large Representative,and has worked several years in the past as the Conference Registration Chairman for the Spring conference. He has presented during pre-conference workshops as well. David currently serves as ASTE's 2008 Conference Chair.

David currently serves the Southwest Region School District as their Information Systems Director. In his tenure, he has successfully co-authored multiple Technology Literacy Challenge Fund (TLCF), a School Renovation grant and the district's current Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2) grant. David continues to be a hands-on manager of the instructional and support technology programs in the District. He authors database solutions, implements the District's Student Record and Document Archival Systems, and provides technology training workshops to staff.

Previously, David worked as a Teacher, Computer Specialist, and Technology Coordinator for the Bering Strait School District. He holds a Master's in Education: Instructional Technology degree and has taught classes for the Norton Sound and Bristol Bay campuses of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. David continues to enjoy working with all of the individuals from across the state who have helped to bring technology into the schools to improve the teaching and learning environment for ALL of Alaska's students. He believes that ASTE is the only continuing unifying force within the state that ensures the successful implementation of technology within the Alaska Public Educational System.
