Past President
Genie Siedler has taught in the Mat-Su Borough School District and the Anchorage School District for the past 20 years. She currently works in Mat-Su as an Educational Technologist. Genie serves on the district curriculum and technology planning committees and reviews plans for EED. She has an extensive background in oral communication and language arts. As a 4th and 5th grade educator, she produced a news broadcasting program weekly. The students were responsible for the technology, content, and direction of this program.
Genie has hosted several student teachers during her career and continues to work with Mat-Su College interns to help integrate technology into their future careers.
Her past board experience includes President of Valley Performing Arts, Alaska State Council of the Arts (3 years - nominated by Gov. Knowles), Artists in Schools Panel (3 years - Chair), Palmer Arts Council Grant Writer, and Anchorage Youth Symphony (2 years). She has been affiliated with ASTE since 1998 and was named the ASTE 2007 Educator of the Year.
