Northern Region
Linda first came to Alaska in 1992 and ended up in a very small village where she had 5 students; grades 1-8, and two of them were her own sons. That site was a 1-1 village as every student had an Apple IIe that they could use.
Since that first year she has been able to work for various districts around the state and was selected to take part in the ARCTIC (Alaska Reform in the Classroom Through Technology Integration) grant that provided her the means to obtain her Masters of Education in Technology Integration. Recently she has also obtained a Masters of Math Education through the University of Alaska Southeast.
For the past six years Linda has been the Instructional Technologist for the North Slope Borough School District and provides computer/software training to the teachers and students. This position has helped keep her up to date with the rapid changes in technology.
Linda has attended as many of the ASTE conferences as she could since 1993 and is looking forward to representing the Northern Region on the ASTE Board.
