Northern Region

Robin Johnson Robin Johnson has worked in the field of education for 25 years and has 8 years of experience serving on the ASTE Board. She grew up in rural Alaska and returned to her home community of Nome where she worked as a primary teacher for 14 years. In 2001 Robin earned a Masters in Educational Technology and has worked as a technology educator and program director for the past 12 years. Robin became a member of Alaska’s Apple Professional Development Team in 2008 and loves working with Alaska’s CDL districts. She enjoys teaching a Distance Educational Technology class for the University of Alaska and has continued her work with Nome Public Schools where she has acted as the Director of Technology for the last 10 years.

In 2001 Robin was recognized by ASTE as the Technology Teacher of the Year and she was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2005.

Robin and her husband, Doug, have 4 children and one grandchild. She loves just being a mom and spending time with her family. Hiking, camping, ATV trips, traveling and cooking are some of activities her family enjoys. In her free time Robin teaches a fitness class for the City of Nome and enjoys sewing Kuspuks and parkas for her family.
