Join Our Team: ASTE Executive Director
The Alaska Society for Technology in Education (ASTE) is on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization into the future. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about education, technology, and event management to make a significant impact.
About the Role: As the Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind achieving ASTE’s mission and financial goals. This part-time, semi-seasonal position offers the flexibility of working from home, with essential travel to Anchorage for our annual February conference and Spring board retreat.
We Are Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in education, technology, or event management.
- Strong background in education or management/administration, with a preference for experience in conference, trade show, or virtual event management.
- Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in current educational technology, marketing strategies, social networking, and information tools.
- Experience in event planning, budget management, and the ability to foster positive relationships with partners, vendors, and members.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Implementing board directives, maintaining timelines, and providing essential feedback on priorities, policies, and procedures.
- Overseeing communications, maintaining official records, and managing financials to ensure expenditures remain within budget.
- Staying updated with technology and event planning trends, seeking new revenue streams, and working to expand membership and benefits.
Salary & Considerations: The role offers a starting salary of $45,000, with additional compensation for necessary travel. The successful candidate will shadow the current Executive Director until June 30, 2024, before officially starting on July 1, 2024.
