Dear ASTE Member,
It’s time to mark your calendar and save-the-date for ASTE 2015. This year we have changed our proposal submission deadlines and registration opening to WAY EARLIER, so you have plenty of time to plan for ASTE 2015 GameOn! We know you’re very busy during the school year,  so that’s why we are letting you know about this event so far in advance. Start day dreaming about ASTE this summer.
Day dream about this: Present at ASTE! We need you to share your expertise. ASTE will give you a $210.00  discount on your conference fee for a 4 hour presentation.
Plan to present 2 hour, 1 hour or 1/2 hour sessions. Just get started now! You can enter your proposal at  Call For Presenters. The deadline for submitting is September 10th. All you need is a short bio and and short description of your presentation. For more information go to Present at ASTE.

Here’s what you can look forward to when you attend ASTE 2015, GameON!

YongZhao_243_MedResDaydream about being inspired by Dr. Yong Zhao,  an internationally known scholar, author, and speaker. His works focus on the implications of globalization and technology on education. He has designed schools that cultivate global competence, developed computer games for language learning, and founded research and development institutions to explore innovative education models. He has published over 100 articles and 20 books, including Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization and World Class Learners: Educating Creative and Entrepreneurial Students. He is a recipient of the Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association and was named one of the 2012 10 most influential people in educational technology by the Tech & Learn Magazine.

Robot dream 2Day dream about Robotics: Artificial Intelligence with Arduinos! ASTE 2015 has arranged for a special robotics session with Michael Backus. Participants will learn to build and program robots to solve a maze.  For a $100 fee for materials you will leave with your own robot! There will only be 10 in this session so plan to register early!  Tablets, computers, and microcontrollers will be available for people to write apps, learn basic programming, and experiment with embedded electronics.
