Greg has worked in many roles during his 14 years as an educator: safety assistant, Science, Math, CTE teacher, & administrator. This has given Greg a unique perspective that is strengthened by his willingness to put himself in his students’ shoes. This empathetic approach to education led Greg to embrace educational technology early in his teaching career; using the SAMR model, he focuses on lesson design that empowers students to be creators of content.
Greg models intellectual curiosity and empathy in his lesson design, & his primary goals are to 1) maximize student engagement, & 2) to use this engagement as leverage for students to develop their social-emotional skills. Students know that Greg is on their side, because he works so hard to reach them.
Greg has been an ambassador for ASTE in the Interior Region, quietly working within his sphere to encourage other teachers to explore technologies that build student engagement. He would be a great asset to the ASTE board.
